Ronald Kent Ipock

Ronald Kent Ipock passed away suddenly on January 26th, 2019 with his wife and daughters by his side. Ron, or Kent to those who knew him best, was born on December 6th, 1950 to Wilma Jean and Ralph Ipock. A devoted sibling to sisters Sherri and Billie and brothers Kevin, Dave, and Ernie. He grew up a farm kid in Nebraska, and there he learned his great love for nature and family. He graduated high school in 1968 and joined the military. Ron was deployed to Vietnam where, despite his gentle nature, he honorably fought for our country. After the army, Ron completed his Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art from Bellevue University. Ron met his wife Denise in 1976. They fell in love and were married in 1979. Denise and Ron were blessed with two daughters and shared their full and happy 39 years together in Omaha, NE, Cincinnati, OH, and Burnett, TX. Family vacations, camping, fishing trips, and Ron’s endless projects filled their life with simple joy and purpose. Ron was the salt of the earth, a true renaissance man. He was passionate about art, reading, auto repair, and the outdoors. He built canoes from strips of wood, and handcrafted tables, benches and stained glass for the ones he loved. He loved reading, sketching and painting, taking apart cars, fishing, and hiking. He never stopped moving and confidently tackled any fix-it project. He happily traveled cross country several times a year to help his daughters with their latest home improvement needs. In recent years, he fully embraced his role as grandpa and built a treehouse in Houston and a swingset in Seattle for the three grandchildren he adored. Ron was a selfless and giving person who showed his love for people through his acts of service and kindness. Ron had a successful career in property management where he was always a source of positivity and encouragement for others. He began his career in property management in 1979 and worked in management at several companies. He provided oversight and guidance for managers and served low income communities with empathy and compassion. In 2013 Ron became a Regional Manager for Hamilton Valley Management and continued working until his unexpected passing. He enjoyed his work there, traveling all through Texas to manage rural properties and provide invaluable support to property managers and residents. Ron worked tirelessly until the day he passed. Ron is survived by his wife Denise Ipock, daughters Marissa Ipock and Amanda (Becca) Ipock, sisters Sherri Eggers, Billie Medley, and brother Ernie Ipock, and sister in law Nancy Herzoff. He will be loved and deeply missed by his three grandchildren Griffin, Skyliah and Ida and nieces Nicole , Sarah , Michelle, Mallory, Jole, Elizabeth, Alysha(Josh), Kirsten, great nephews, Austin, Trenton, Jonathan, Bobby, Kyler, Dalton, and Braxton; great nieces, Allison, Abby, Maddie, Jayden, Harlee and Maisy, Ava, Mia, Railynn and many other relatives and friends. He was proceeded in death by his mother and father, Ralph and Jean Ipock, and brothers David and Kevin Ipock, and brother in law Ronald Herzoff.
