Mila Diane Woods

Mila Diane Woods, 68, was called home by our Lord on the morning of Friday, March 29th. She passed peacefully, due to complications of pulmonary hypertension, surrounded by those that loved her. Our beautiful light was brought forth February 6th, 1951 in Austin, Texas to Walton and Bessie Hatherly. She was married at age 17 to Julius Sughrue in 1968 and accepted his three children Tina, J.W., and Ramona as her own. Mila and Julius went on to bring five children into the world named William, Kirk, Kevin, Jason, and Amy. After separating from Julius, she later married Roy Woods, in 1986 who preceded her death in 2015. They had one daughter together, Jennifer. Born and raised in Austin, Texas, Mila was one of six siblings and attended McCallum High School. She worked for the IRS for over 30 years where she often was awarded for her stellar performance. She enjoyed taking trips to the beach or local towns, antiquing for forgotten treasures, and finding new recipes to make for her family. Her soul was one that loved well and was well loved. She loved animals. She loved her family. Above all, she loved God. Mila is preceded in death by her Parents, Bessie and Walton, her brothers Howard and Fred, her husband Roy, and her sons Julius and Kirk. She is survived by her children Tina, Ramona, William, Kevin, Jason, Amy, and Jennifer. Her siblings Walt, Tula, and Becky. As well as her grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude for the staff of Seton Hays Medical Center, AccentCare Home Healthcare, and Pulmonologist Dr. Rajesh Shetty of Kyle for their herculean efforts to care for our mother. A graveside service will be conducted ‪at two o'clock in the afternoon on Monday, April 1st, 2019, at Austin Memorial Cemetery, ‪2800 Hancock Dr, Austin, TX 78731. A memorial and a catered reception will follow immediately following at Ben Hur Shrine Temple, 7811 Rockwood Lane, Austin, Texas 78757. Mila owned a strong and resilient spirit that will be carried on through the hearts of her family. Rest in peace, loving mother. In lieu of flowers, a donation is requested to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for those who wish to do so.
