Telling Trenae's Story: The Legend of Trenae If there was anyone who knew how to live life to the fullest and love the hardest, it was Trenae. She was a vibrant soul, a force of nature who touched countless lives with her immense joy, vivacious spirit, and boundless compassion. Trenae approached every moment with genuine, contagious childlike wonder. She found magic in the smallest things, from laughing with friends to playing pranks. She saw the world as a treasure chest of experiences and delighted in sharing her discoveries with those she loved. Growing up in Kansas, she participated in basketball, choir, volleyball, band, theatre, track, and church group. This year alone, she was planning to crochet, make concrete bowls, do woodworking, and try glassblowing according to the notes on her phone. As a child, she could always be found playing dress-up and planning skits with her sister, Kaley. Their passion for keeping notes and lists has no limits. There are so many memories of cuddles and reading books together. Kaley & Trenae's connection is a true testament of sisterhood. Whether she was planning an event, dancing with abandon, or diving into a new project, her enthusiasm was a testament to her appetite for life. She was always planning her next exciting trip. Though she intended to take many solo adventures, she always ended up inviting her parents, Steve and Nita, along. Colombia was incredibly special to her. At just sixteen, she worked and paid for her own way to take a learning tour there. It was during a later trip to Colombia that she met her beautiful, amazing, cool, and awesome husband, Eric-as she would say. They complemented each other and, in eight years, achieved something that could have taken decades. They were best friends. Her love for people was unmatched. Trenae was deeply curious about others, always taking the time to truly listen and connect. She had a way of reaching even the most reserved people, offering kindness and understanding without judgment. She loved deeply and genuinely, making everyone around her feel seen and valued. Her countless friends and beloved family will miss her deeply. Our night sky gained the brightest star to guide us, hug us, dance with us, laugh with us, cry with us. And it is now up to us to carry Trenae's spirit forward - to live with positivity, joy for life, and see magic in the everyday. Quick 'T' Facts: Activities she tried: Kayaking, paddleboarding, paragliding, snorkeling, writing a kid's story, scuba diving, social soccer league, 10K, hiking, rock climbing, surfing, skiing, dancing everything from champeta, twerking, to two step, riding a motorcycle in a Colombian highway in the dark with no lights, and walking an armadillo on a leash (We have proof) In memory of Trenae, we have chosen to honor her legacy of compassion and service by supporting The SAFE Alliance in Austin: https://give.safeaustin.org/give/460919/#!/donation/checkout This non-profit organization, a merger of Austin Children’s Shelter and SafePlace, provides vital services to survivors of child abuse, sexual assault, exploitation, and domestic violence. Trenae was deeply passionate about helping others. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from the University of Kansas, where she dedicated her time to supporting victims of domestic violence. Following her graduation, she continued her commitment to vulnerable populations by working with children in foster care in Wichita, Kansas. To carry forward her dedication to making a difference, any additional contributions will be donated to The SAFE Alliance, ensuring her spirit of care and advocacy lives on through this meaningful cause.
