Marcia Sutter

It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing Saturday night of beloved CAA Member Marcia Sutter (a"h) -- cherished wife for 39 years of Steve; beloved mother of Bethany Gabbard and Jeremy Connor and also Wesley Gabbard and Kathleen Hildebrand; honored step-mother of Andrea Sutter-Feinberg and Chip Feinberg and also Jonathan Sutter; adored grandmother of Milo, Penelope, Starlee and Marigold. Marcia (a"h) was born in Ohio. She served as a nurse for many years, and after moving quite a bit as a young adult, settled down in Binghamton, NY. It was here that she met and married Steve and where they raised their children together. After Marcia (a"h) and Steve retired, they moved to Austin to be closer to her children and grandchildren. Never known for sitting still, she quickly became very active in the Sun City community. She was a talented seamstress and also loved knitting and crocheting. She was an avid reader and was a part of several book and dinner clubs. Additionally, upon her retirement, she took up newer hobbies including line dancing and mahjong. As with other things she enjoyed, Marcia's (a"h) connections within the Jewish community also ran widely and deeply, having not only been a beloved member of the CAA family but also of Congregation Tiferet Israel and Congregation Havurah Shalom in Sun City. Marcia (a"h) was incredibly dedicated to Steve. She was known for her warmth and for not being easily rattled, bringing a calming presence to those around her. She will be deeply missed. She was 78. Funeral and burial services will be held on Wednesday, 21 May @ 11:00 am in Austin at Austin Memorial Park (2800 Hancock Dr).
