In Loving Memory of Julett Broadnax August 11, 1932 - March 18, 2025 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Julett M. Broadnax, who peacefully left this world at the age of ninety-two on March 18, 2025. Julett was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose spirituality, wisdom, and humor touched all who knew her. Born on August 11, 1932, in Chicago, IL, Julett lived her life fully and vibrantly, never losing sight of the fact that every moment was precious. She was a wife to John Broadnax, who she often referred to as the love of her life, and was also a mother to her three sons, Greg, Kevin, and Stephen. She was a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother, as well. Her legacy will live on through her son, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who will continue to cherish the love and support she gave throughout her time with us. Julett's life was marked by her devotion to God, her adventurous spirit, and her passion for the arts. She found great fulfillment in spiritual direction and was a guiding light to those who sought her wisdom. Her love of music was evident in her joyful singing, and she took great pleasure in attending live performances that enriched her soul. She also had an enduring appreciation for all forms of art, finding beauty in the creativity and expression that surrounded her. Known for her compassion, gentle spirit, and ability to make people feel accepted and understood, Julett had a remarkable gift for bringing comfort to people in times of need. Not to say she couldn't get feisty, but she genuinely loved listening to others and helping them find their own path. Whether it was offering a friendly ear, telling a slightly scandalous joke, or providing a comforting word, her presence was a source of solace to many who knew her. She had a steadfast strength, facing life's challenges with deep resolve and an unwavering sense of self. She will be remembered for her faith, tenacity, and deep love for her family. Julett was preceded in death by her husband John, her sons Greg and Stephen, and her siblings Caroline, Paul, Jim, and John; and she is survived by her son Kevin, her daughter-in-law Kathy, her siblings Virginia and Martha, her grandchildren Samantha and Adam, Andrew, Jason, Courtney, Erin and Rae, her four great-grandchildren Caitlyn, Karsyn, Ezra, and Arya, along with many dear friends. Her absence leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved her, but her memory will remain in the beautiful stories we share and the invaluable lessons she taught us. A Memorial Service will be held at Austin Natural Funerals on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Threshold Choir in her name, a cause close to Julett's heart, or to a charity of the donor's choice. Though we mourn her passing, we find comfort in knowing that Julett is now at peace, reunited with loved ones who have gone before her. Our deepest hope is that her soul is now at rest in Heaven.
