Jaclyn McAlmon

Jaclyn Soloff McAlmon (1962 - 2021) Jaclyn (Jackie) Soloff McAlmon was born in El Paso, Texas in 1962 to Pattie (Rosenberg) and Philip Soloff, M.D. She graduated from Coronado High School and then the University of Texas with a degree in Finance. She went on to a career in real estate appraisal, in Houston and then in Austin with American Realty. In 1989 she married John Francis McAlmon and together they raised one daughter, Payton Grace McAlmon, born in 2003. Jackie lived for her family, friends and neighbors. Her daughter Payton was the light of her life and the two of them shared an exceptional and loving bond. Jackie always had a smile and was quick to volunteer whether it was for Girl Scouts, school activities, family events or girls' trips. The family were long term members of Temple Beth Shalom. She loved to travel, read mysteries and her puppies. Jackie created a home with John that reflected the importance of family and friends, their Jewish faith and their love of El Paso and Austin. She was an amazing hostess, always welcoming company into their home and living life to the fullest. Jackie will be remembered as the glue that brought and kept family and friends from all over the world together. She will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege to know her. She is mourned by her devoted husband, John; her daughter, Payton; her sister Rachel Soloff Nugent (Tom Nugent); her brother, David Soloff; her mother-in-law, Hondey McAlmon; sisters-in-law Lisa McAlmon Brown (Stephen Brown) and Annie McAlmon Zimmerman (Mark Zimmerman); brother-in-law Alex McAlmon (Barbara Ellis); his children Raven and John McAlmon; aunts Leonor Rosenberg and Brenda Waldman, and numerous cousins and friends. Jackie was preceded in death by her parents Pattie and Phil and her father-in-law George McAlmon. A private memorial service will take place on Sunday, April 25, 2021.
