Amy Patricia Bradfield

On January 28, 2026, an angel returned home. Amy Bradfield was beloved by so many and will be greatly missed. After years of living with a body being taken over by dystonia, and a mind declining with dementia, she is now free of all earthly constraints and has returned to her Maker. Amy was born in Houston, Texas to the late Thomas Edward Bradfield and Laura Giles Dreiss Bradfield in 1941, and was raised on Flat Rock Ranch, part of the Giles family's Hillingdon Ranch outside of Comfort, Texas. Being the eldest of the 5 Bradfield children, and of the gang of cousins on Hillingdon Ranch, she grew up quickly and took on a lot of responsibility. The time she felt most free and alive was riding her horse "Little Bit" around the ranch. After graduating from Comfort High School in 1959, she attended Texas Woman's University in Denton where she met Donald Wayne Swint. She paused her education to raise their 3 children: Mark Edward, David Alan, and Susan Gay Swint. She eventually returned to school to complete her degree in elementary education at Lamar University. She then proceeded to teach students with special needs at Goose Creek ISD, Medina ISD, Kerrville ISD, and Eanes ISD in Austin. After Amy began to have symptoms of dystonia that made teaching difficult, she retired and began a journey of many odd jobs from traveling around the country planting pine trees, raking blueberries, picking apples, and detassling corn, to therapeutic massage and house/pet-sitting. With an insatiable curiosity, she devoured books and continuously sought knowledge and connection with God and all of God's children. She also loved art and music and dancing. By sharing her divine light, Amy made every person she encountered feel special and loved. Among the recipients of her love and hugs were the special needs students she taught, the hospice patients she cared for as a volunteer, the children in the youth program at The Church of Conscious Harmony, her own children and their spouses, her 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, the many people that she literally touched as a massage therapist, her friends and family members, her family in Christ at CCH, and the many pets and people she cared for. Amy never let a birthday go by without a call to wish her loved ones a happy day! Amy is survived by her siblings Tom (and Kathy) Bradfield, Bebe Hammock, Betty Kay (and Mark) Belin, and Ed Bradfield, her children Mark (and Teri) Swint, David (and Joanna) Swint, and Susan (and Jon) Kemppainen, her grandchildren Shelby (and Jon) Lindenberger, Dylan Swint, Trevor (and Brooke) Swint, Taylor Swint, Evan Kemppainen, and Leah Kemppainen, Hannah (and Carlos) Camargo, Hannah Swint, and James Bernhard, and her 9 great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 7, at 2:00PM, at The Church of Conscious Harmony, 7406 Newhall Lane, Austin, TX 78746.
